    Researchers from Vestlandsforsking will be represented at Arendalsuka, the largest political gathering in Norway. This year, we present a wide range of events highliting important issues and dilemmas related to nature, inclusion in the twin green and digital shift, climate risk, and local social development. We invite partners, decision-makers, and all interested parties to meet us for talks and discussions in Arendal.

    Researcher Svein Ølnes and professor Arild Jansen, University of Oslo, have written the paper "The nature of public e-services and their quality dimensions" published in Government Information Quarterly vol. 33, issue 4.

  • Emergency management has become a problem for authorities across the world because the frequency of disasters such as floods, landslides, earthquakes, and even riots have considerably have increased.

  • Norstella, a foundation for e-Business and trade procedures, arranged a conference on blockchain technology 26th of October. Researcher Svein Ølnes was invited to talk about the potential of Bitcoin and blockchain technology in public sector.

  • Dannevig is a PhD-candidate at the Department of Planning at Aalborg University and a Research Fellow at Western Norway Research Institute in Sogndal.

  • The Western Norway Research Institute is currently assisting the development of an EEA funded National Climate Adaptation Training Network in Hungary. As part of the project a group of ten Hungarians have been visiting Sogn to learn more about climate adaptation and climate change communication.
